CIVIL WAR QUILTS

2011 is the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War.

Quilt historian Barbara Brackman is starting a new and exciting BOW commerating this event. She even has started a blog just for this project. Each week she will be posting a free block pattern as well as a CW story to go along with it.

What an interesting project! Did I say new project???

  1. Thanks for pointing me to this blog, Pat. Oops! Another project? Not really, I think. Our guild is doing a "square robin," fabric passing around from person to person, each person making a block a month. We'll get ours back in June, and mine just happens to be CW. When I returns to me, I will see if I need to do any more blocks and this will be a good resource.

  5. Pat, thanks for this great blog...I may not do the blocks, but the history is really interesting. Being in Arkansas, I know more about the flag.
I am STILL putting together another Brackman quilt, love the fabrics.
