SYLVIA'S BRIDAL SAMPLER

A few weeks ago I dug out my Sylvia's Bridal Sampler bin, and started back to working on these blocks.  I've been doing the BOW on the list.  To my surprise, I won this pin for February.  You get one entry for each block you submit every month.

This week's block is M-7, New Mexico.  The block wasn't hard, but was fiddly, and took a while.

I used Marti Michell's Set S.  This really helps when making a 6" block with a 5x5 grid.

The pieces are tiny, as this picture with the quarter shows.

Not too bad, but far from perfect.  I think I'll use the galloping horse rule here and keep it:)

Nice little block. I have some of Marti's templates but haven't used any yet... I might give you a holler when I dig them out.
Congrats on winning the pin. It is pretty!

  4. Congrats on winning the pin.
The block New Mexico looks really hard to make. Lucky you who have it made, and it looks really nice!
I am going to sew my block just now.

  6. I haven't made this block for my 30's SBS YET! I remember how fiddly it was the first time. Congrats on winning the PIN. Is this your 1st time to Win?
