QUILT TOPS
I'm working on trying (at least trying) to get some order in my sewing room. Today I resurrected and hung 18 completed tops, also know as flimsies in the quilting world, waiting for quilting. Yikes! Some have backings ready too. I know of at least two more that aren't shown.
Well at least I know what direction I need to lean this winter.
My grandmother inherited 2, yes 2, unquilted tops from her mom. That overwhelmed her as she wasn't a quilter.
Image my kids, none of whom quilt, but all three know the value and love in homemade, inheriting so many tops.
I still have hope for a grandchild quilter. Working on it at least!

18 tops - love to see them!! Have also to many tops. Lets start quilting!!
Wow! I have three in my closet. Whenever I feel overwhelmed by flimsies, I take a few to be longarmed. Soothes the savage beast!
My closet looks like that!
I'm shipping a box full of quilt tops to quilt while I'm in Florida this winter.
18 unquilted tops? OH, I thought I was bad with about 5 or so. We love the piecing, just not the quilting part.
Looks like we need to hunker down in the ole sewing cave this winter and get some of these done!! I think at last count I had around 32 flimsies!!! YIKES!!
Yours look pretty hanging there all in a row!!
Had to laugh at your post. I have thought a lot about the fact that I don't ever seem to get caught up on my 'flimsies'. The stack just seems to get bigger and bigger--up to about 23-25 right now? Wish I could quilt faster.:)
