PILLOWCASES FOR VISITORS

Today I finished 6 pillowcases.  Our oldest son and his family are coming next week, and these will be gifts to use here and then take home with them.   From the left, two versions of Thomas the Train for our 3 and 4 year old grandsons (no explanation needed, LOL), girly dogs for our daughter-in-law (their two dogs will be coming along), barbecue for our son (he'll take over all week, I'm sure), coffee for me (I'll need it to keep up), and for my husband, take time for lake time - relax theme (he does love it on the water).

Some years we've given everyone matching t-shirts, sometimes pajamas, etc.  I think they'll all appreciate the homemade pillowcases this year.

Very nice, Pat. What a fun idea to make them for family/guests. I may have to steal that idea from you. lol.
Good job on the tute! Your instructions are very clear... nice job. It's not easy writing directions, but yours are very descriptive. I make my pillowcases much the same way as you, except: after the 'hem' is laid out, flange is next, then case fabric RS down... roll and stitch... it is fun to learn that we can do it either way. Also like that you do your French Seams all in one pass... I have been making first the side and then the bottom FS [separately]. I like your idea much better and will give it a go! Thank you. [oops, didn't mean to write a book here! Sorry]
